Refund Policy

Eligibility for Refund, Return & Replacement

BooksBucket provides Return/Replacement/Refund only in case of damaged or defective books. This policy is valid for 3 days from the date of delivery. After 3 days, we are unable to offer any refund or exchange.


Mandatory Unboxing Video

Customers are required to record a clear video while unpacking the order. This unboxing video is mandatory for any return, replacement, or refund request.

Without a proper unboxing video, the customer will not be eligible for any refund, return, or replacement.


Damages Covered Under Policy

Refund/return/replacement will only be applicable in the following cases:

  • Severe spine damage causing pages to come apart
  • In-transit damage (corner bends, minor dents, or cover scratches are not covered)
  • More than 2 pages misprinted
  • More than 2 pages torn
  • More than 2 pages missing
  • Smudged pages making content unreadable (minimum 2+ pages affected)
  • Wrong book delivered
  • Missing book in the order

Important Notes on Special Editions

Sets like Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings may include outer boxes which are delicate and can get damaged during transit. Damage to outer packaging/boxes is not covered under refund or replacement policy. However, damage to the books inside will be considered under the policy.

Mystery Boxes are strictly non-returnable and non-refundable.


Return & Replacement Process

  • Replacement/return processing time: 7–14 days
  • Pickup will be arranged from the customer’s doorstep
  • Shipping charges for return pickup will be covered by BooksBucket

Refund Method

  • For prepaid orders: Refund will be issued to the original payment method
  • For COD orders: Refund will be processed via UPI or Bank Transfer in the customer’s name
  • Customers may be asked to provide UPI details via SMS/email/call for processing COD refunds

Delivery Issues & Refund Conditions

  • If a parcel is returned to us due to courier issues or non-delivery, full refund will be issued
  • If the customer refuses to accept the order, shipping charges will be deducted from refund
  • If incorrect address, pin code, or phone number is provided, shipping charges will be deducted from refund

Cancellation Policy

  • Orders can be cancelled only if they have not been processed or shipped
  • Once shipped, cancellation is not allowed and only replacement can be requested

For approved cancellations:

  • Prepaid orders: Refund via original payment method
  • COD orders: Store credit or refund as applicable

Cancellation by BooksBucket

BooksBucket may cancel orders in the following cases:

  • Stock unavailability
  • Damaged or defective product issue
  • Delivery restrictions (lockdowns, strikes, or service unavailability)

In such cases, full refund will be issued.


Wrong Delivery / Courier Disputes

If a shipment is marked “Delivered” but not received, customers must inform us immediately (preferably on the same day). We will raise a dispute with the courier service.

POD (Proof of Delivery) disputes can only be raised within 3 days of delivery status.


Late or Missing Refunds

If you have not received your refund:

  • Check your bank account or payment method again
  • Check email updates from payment gateway (e.g., Razorpay)
  • If still not received, contact our support team

Final Rights

BooksBucket reserves the right to decide the compensation method. Refunds will be processed promptly if the issue is found genuine.
